Check If Your Mepco Bill is Paid or Not

Did you pay your electricity bill but want to be 100% sure MEPCO received it? Here are the simplest ways to confirm your payment status instantly.

After paying your Mepco electricity bill online or at a bank, it is common to wonder: "Has my payment been successfully updated in the MEPCO system?" Knowing your Mepco bill paid or not status gives you peace of mind and prevents the hassle of late payment surcharges or disconnection.

Unfortunately, the official MEPCO website does not provide a live "Payment History" or "Status" dashboard for residential users. However, there are three proven, indirect methods you can use to check if your bill is officially marked as paid.

Method 1: The Banking App "Double-Check" Trick

This is the fastest and most reliable method to check your payment status instantly, right from your smartphone. If you use a banking app like HBL, Meezan, UBL, or mobile wallets like Easypaisa or JazzCash, follow these steps:

  1. Open your banking or mobile wallet app (e.g., Easypaisa).
  2. Navigate to the Bill Payment section and select Electricity > MEPCO.
  3. Enter your 14-digit Reference Number.
  4. Attempt to fetch the bill. If the bill was already paid, the app will show an error message like: "Bill Already Paid" or "No Unpaid Bills Found."

Note: It usually takes 24 to 48 hours for bank databases to sync with MEPCO's servers. If you paid your bill an hour ago, this method might still show the bill as unpaid. Be patient and check the next day.

Method 2: Check the "Arrears" on Next Month's Bill

If you prefer an official confirmation printed by MEPCO, you will have to wait for the next billing cycle. When you receive your new bill (or generate it on mepcobillonline.com):

!

Where to Look on Your Bill

Arrears (بقایا جات): Rs. 4,500

If this section shows an amount, your previous bill was NOT paid (or updated late).

Arrears (بقایا جات): Rs. 0

If this section shows zero, your previous bill was successfully PAID.

Look at the Arrears or Previous Balance section on your new bill. If it shows "0", your payment was successful. If the amount you paid last month is added to the current bill as arrears, the payment did not go through (or you paid after the due date, and it will be adjusted next month).

Method 3: Call the MEPCO Helpline

If you are facing a disconnection threat or have a large dispute regarding a paid bill that is showing as unpaid, the best course of action is to directly contact MEPCO customer support.

  • Call the toll-free helpline: 118 or 0800-63726.
  • Keep your 14-digit Reference Number ready.
  • Ask the representative: "Can you please check the payment status against my reference number for the previous month?"

What If I Paid After the Due Date?

If you paid your bill after the due date, the payment might not reflect in the MEPCO system before they generate the next month's bill. In this case:

  • The next month's bill will show your previous month's amount as Arrears along with a Late Payment Surcharge (LPS).
  • Do not panic: Simply visit your nearest MEPCO revenue office with your paid bill receipt, and they will adjust the amount. Alternatively, you can pay the new bill minus the arrears, but it is safer to get it corrected officially.
